Substitute Providers InitiativeProgram Promotion
We know that running a family child care program can be exhausting and full of stressful tradeoffs – like when you need to go to a doctor’s appointment during the work day, but the only way to do that is to temporarily close your program, inconveniencing your families at the same time. These situations are inevitable when you’re a one-person operation.
We get it, and that’s why Prosper is launching an initiative to help you identify a “substitute provider” who can step-in for you when you need to be away from your program on short-notice or temporary basis.
The DetailsTo take part, you just need to find someone whom you trust age 18+ (spouse, in-law, neighbor) and have them complete 12 hours of training and background check requirements. Upon successful completion of the process, the Prosper program will reimburse you for the costs related to your substitute’s training and background studies. Cami Moore – Martin County’s licensor can share more details with you if you’re interested.
The BenefitsAfter successfully completing their requirements, a substitute can fill in for you - operating under your license, for up to 500 hours per year, giving you peace of mind when you need to temporarily step away from your program. Because your program can remain open, your families benefit too – experiencing less disruption and inconvenience. And best of all, Prosper will reimburse you – so there’s ultimately no cost to participate.
Our goal is to find ways to make life a little easier and less chaotic for you and your families. Please reach out to me if you’d like to learn more. – Sam
